C.AR.ME was born inside the Carmine, the historic district of Brescia, based in the Church of Santi Filippo and Giacomo, now deconsecrated and called Sala: a large exhibition hall, characterized by four side niches, which ends in a stage and continues in a second room, once used as a nuns' choir. The operational model of C.AR.ME provides for the coordination of temporary exhibitions, artistic residencies, artistic production projects of theater, dance, cinema, visual arts, music and digital culture. It is a place for open calls, meetings and round tables focused on the contemporary art system. C.AR.ME is a place of information, education and awareness on contemporary culture, through art which, in all its expressions, reflects its territory, especially the reality of the Carmine.
