The Municipal Printing House of Madrid is a center for the conservation and dissemination of traditional printing and binding techniques dating back to 1853.
In its permanent exhibition you can see pieces and techniques of graphic arts that trace the history of printing from the origins to the twentieth century, techniques of graphic reproduction - woodcut, intaglio and lithography - and binding.
It has a specialized library with funds relating to the Graphic Arts and has four laboratories of professional typography, artisan bookbinding, artistic bookbinding and restoration, linked to the conservation of traditional printing and binding techniques and to the restoration of bibliographic and documentary materials of the Municipality.
It also programs temporary exhibitions, conferences and various information activities.
