Considered among the protagonists of the Italian figurative history of the early twentieth century and of the central years of the last century, Alberto Salietti (Ravenna, 1892 – Chiavari, 1961) after the Venice Biennale of 1924, became part of the Novecento movement and in 1927 he was among the founders of the Group of seven modern painters together with other important artists such as Sironi, Carrà, Tosi, Funi, Marussig, Bernasconi.

From the analysis of the artist's vast pictorial production it is possible to identify some simple and primary thematic areas, constant references in his research: Interiors with figures, Landscapes, Still lifes. To complete the exhibition itinerary, conceived in the rooms of the Palazzo in Piazza Kennedy, we find an unpublished study, dedicated to the exhibition of his "Pictorial Diaries": booklets in which from 1935 to 1960 the artist collected his impressions of daily life and his artistic reflections. Alongside this exhibition, the photographic research "Ravenna Bella" will be presented. A short journey to review together one of the most loved and lively places: the city Darsena. The images, belonging to the photographic collection of the Classense Library and referring to the years and glimpses of the city in which Alberto Salietti began his brilliant activity as a "young painter from Ravenna", come from the research carried out by Enzo Pezzi, Gabriele Pezzi, Giancarlo Gramantieri.

The exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Ravenna, MAR - Art Museum of the city of Ravenna in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Chiavari, Società Economica Chiavari, Associazione Tecnica Mista Chiavari, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna and Cassa di Risparmio of Ravenna.
