The Casa di Giulietta Museum is housed in a solid medieval building, where perhaps the Dal Cappello family resided since the 13th century, which gives the street its name and whose emblem is carved in a relief in the keystone of the internal arch of the courtyard of the building. The entire complex has been the subject of numerous restoration and restructuring interventions over the centuries, passing through the hands of different owners. In the meantime, the legend and popular belief that identified it as the birthplace of Juliet Capulet and the Municipality of Verona in 1907 believed it is advisable to acquire at least part of the entire medieval age complex.
