The show

Omar Galliani pays homage to Leonardo Da Vinci in the noble rooms of the Swabian Castle of Bari. On the 500th anniversary of the death of one of the most representative figures of the Renaissance, the great tradition of Italian drawing relives in the works of Omar Galliani, an artist internationally appreciated for his ability to bring the classic "nuanced" technique to a monumental dimension .

The exhibition itinerary, which will unfold in the Federico II Room, in the Norman Room and in the Bona Sforza Room, will include about twenty-five works , including large tables and works on paper. In a long corridor of the manor will be set up the most impressive table ever made with a graphite tip, " Great Italian Drawing ", presented in 2005 at the Turin State Archives together with an original drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci. Eight unpublished works will also reconstruct the identikit of Bona Sforza, which will develop around a single subject, probed in different postures of the face and neck. Finally, a reconnaissance will be proposed through some of the Maestro's early works, made starting from details of faces or drawings taken from well-known Leonardo notebooks.

The exhibition, entitled "Leonardesca", is promoted by the Direction of the Pole Museum of Puglia and by the Vincenzo Maria Valente Music Foundation in partnership with Exprivia / Italtel, Via Della Spiga Milano, Indeco spa, with the support of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. , Puglia Foundation, Giuseppe Saverio Poli, Banca Popolare di Puglia and Basilicata, University of Bari, Port System Authority of the Southern Adriatic Sea.
