The show

The purpose of the exhibition is to illustrate principles, tools, examples and results of the meticulous work of recomposing information, data and notions made possible today by the application of science to one's own discipline and, in particular, to the study of finds.
What can an object tell about itself? Our senses give us basic information such as its appearance, size, shape, color, even the traces that man, nature or time have left on it. Yet, all of this is clearly not enough to unveil the whole story and life cycle.
Archaeometry - a set of techniques adopted to study materials, production methods and the conservation history of the finds - makes it possible to interrogate objects: thanks to the growing interaction with the skills of chemistry, physics or radiology, the material heritage of collection of the Egyptian Museum reveals elements and information otherwise inaccessible.
A network of institutions from all over the world which, through new technologies, places itself at the service of the past to make visible what is invisible.
