Morgentau und Abendrot in Cefalú 2020 , this is the title of the exhibition by the German artist Iris Band , from Halle (Saxony Anhalt), which the Mandralisca Museum of Cefalú will host starting from September 4th and until October 2nd.

For the second time in Sicily, Iris Band dedicates some of her paintings to Cefalú among the various works that she realizes with original technique and which mainly portray cities, in a timeless, surreal dimension, symbolic places, cleansed of every everyday life, meticulous small parts that are composed almost like a mosaic and that cause a strong nostalgic and sensual emotion.

The artist, who attended the Dresden Academy of Arts and completed his training in the field of enamel, metals and painting at the Industrial Design University of Halle, Burg Giebichenstein, one of the most prestigious art universities of Germany and Europe, he has made countless solo exhibitions and participated in multiple group exhibitions, both in various cities of Germany (Halle, Berlin, Leipzig, Bonn, Kiel, Hildesheim, Munich, Schloß Mainau, Magdeburg, Karlsruhe, Naumburg, Wittenberg, Lubeck , Rostock, Aachen, Baden-Baden, Mainz, Hamburg) and the world (USA, China, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Malta). He lives in Halle and there he works successfully in his atelier, from which he often travels for his study trips that have had as their destination England, Italy, Cyprus, France, Greece, Sweden, Chile, USA, China, Egypt, Indonesia, China , Myanmar, Laos. In 2013, after a long trip to Sicily, he created the exhibition "Sizilianische Reise" entirely dedicated to Sicily in Halle at the Stelzer und Zaglmaier Gallery.

The Board of Directors of the Mandralisca Foundation of Cefalú dedicates a catalog to the works of the Morgentau und Abendrot in Cefalú 2020 exhibition and after the long period of closure of these difficult times, due to the pandemic, intends to inaugurate, starting from the Iris Band exhibition, a restart full of activities and events of high artistic and cultural profile.

It will be possible to get to know and meet the artist, who for the first period of the exhibition will stay in Cefalú and then travel to Sicily, in the rooms of the Museum or on the occasion of a vernissage that will be dedicated to her on September 19th.
