closed Max Marra. Noi e gli altri

The show

The "others", explains Max Marra, are always us. Presented for the first time at the Lissone Museum, the homonymous box contains 28 mixed techniques on paper, with manual tempera and ink interventions on fragments of paper applied to each print, to give singularity and uniqueness to each element of the collection.

Vittorio Raschietti's pen has been entrusted with the task of telling this great atlas of figures that are embodied "in zoomorphic and anthropomorphic hybrid forms, often grotesque, always allegorical masks. Elongated faces, shaved skulls, circled eyes, masked desires, missed acts. Faces without ears, willing to listen only to the inner voice, set in their own internal dialogue. Forked languages propagate the lie in the circulation of the false, faithful to the deception of the world. False shadows project hidden truths ready to betray themselves. Humanoid forms set according to a complicated interlocking game. Like pieces of a decomposed figure, cut out and finally recomposed for a non-random game of assembly, which follows an ancient incomprehensible ritual. Faces set in other faces, like souls introjected into other spirits. Mental labyrinths, visual weaves, microcosms of signs that refer to a macrocosm of a graphic world wrapped around itself: where the world is a sign and the sign becomes a world ».

At the end of the exhibition, the limited edition casket will be included in the permanent collections of the Lissone Museum.
