Description

The trousseau belongs to one of the prominent female burials of the necropolis of Torre Mordillo (Spezzano Albanese-CS), although there is also an iron spearhead (an object usually pertaining to male grave goods), in association with the wide repertoire of fibulae in bronze and iron - among which the set consisting of 6 fibulae with four bronze spirals, one with a bone plate, one with a covered arch, three with glasses, two in iron and the other in bronze leaf stands out - , with numerous glass and amber beads, braid clips, rings and various ornamental elements tied to the belt, including a “xylophone” pendant. The presence of the spearhead could confirm the relevance of the trousseau to a bisome burial, that is with the presence of a male and a female subject placed inside the same funerary container (probably a wooden chest subsequently decayed), like other notes in the world. enotrio, which underline the importance of the couple's family bond. The kit also includes a faired cup, a jug and a pyx in mixture.
