The Correr Museum is one of the most important and representative museums in the city of Venice . It is located in the San Marco district, in the homonymous Piazza San Marco .

The Correr Museum offers various, exciting itineraries to discover the Art and History of Venice . The first route winds along the “imperial” rooms of the Royal Palace, where the Empress Elisabeth of Austria resided during her visits to the lagoon city.

In the spaces of the Procuratie Nuove , designed by the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi (1552-1616) and in which the major magistracies of the Serenissima resided, various aspects of Venetian civilization are illustrated, from daily life to that of institutions, from maritime businesses to city festivals.

On the second floor, the Correr Museum houses the splendid Picture Gallery which collects important masterpieces of Venetian art from the origins to the sixteenth century. Nineteen rooms in which famous masterpieces follow one another in an installation by Carlo Scarpa.

Finally, returning to the first floor it is possible to admire the recently restored Neoclassical Rooms and the Canovian Collection .

In the five new rooms of the Procuratie , all the works of the great sculptor in the collection have been restored to their original neoclassical splendor, together with the decorative elements of the entire Canovian section.
