The museum

The dynamic Museum of bricks and terracotta of Marsciano is configured both as a place of collection, conservation and enhancement of the historical-artistic heritage of the territory, and as a place of emotions evoked by films, sounds and noises of all that is the world of terracotta that arises from the set of the 4 founding elements of nature (earth, water, air and fire) which become an artifact for human use.

A museum between past, present and future, capable of meeting the challenges of the contemporary world, of telling the past to interpret the present as a function of a more aware tomorrow, inherent in the character and vocation of the territory.

The visitor who enters the rooms of the Museum is offered a journey through images, imagination and imagination through a new exhibition path that has its fulcrum in the lower part of Palazzo Pietromarchi. The purpose of the new exhibition is to communicate the vast heritage of terracotta and bricks, already present since the opening to the public in 2004, with the inclusion of multimedia systems and technologies, virtual animations and a new graphic communication, redesigning and reviving the pre-existing path and implementing teaching through the creation of a permanent training space that allows visitors to live the experience of "making bricks".

Finally, in the Palace are exhibited a valuable fresco depicting a Madonna enthroned with Child with angels, San Silvestro and San Rocco from the school of Pinturicchio, dating back to around 1500, the portrait of Beata Angelina da Montegiove of the counts of Marsciano and a rich and colorful collection of Italian and foreign terracotta whistles. between visits and laboratory activities.
