The Museum preserves naturalistic and archaeological collections, originally housed in Palazzo Chiericati and transferred in 1991 to the architectural complex formed by the two cloisters that flank the church of S. Corona. It is organized in two complementary sections: the naturalistic one presents the reality of the territory, with particular reference to the environmental specificity of the Berici Hills, of which it represents the geology, flora and fauna of the most characteristic environments. The archaeological section documents the presence of man in the Vicenza area from the Paleolithic to the Lombard period. Of particular interest are the Neolithic and Bronze Age finds from the Fimon valleys; the bronze votive plates (5th - 1st century BC) found in the heart of the city; the decorative elements of the Theater of Berga (1st century AD); the collection of ancient statuary gift of Gerolamo Egidio di Velo.
