Moriggia Palace | Museum of the Risorgimento

The Museum of the Risorgimento in Milan is housed in the eighteenth-century Palazzo Moriggia , designed in 1755 by Giuseppe Piermarini close to the vast complex of Brera, in via Borgonuovo, the "contrada de 'nobili", so called for the fine architecture of its buildings that they give an aristocratic air.

The permanent exhibition of the Museum of the Risorgimento tells the story of Italy, from the rise of the first independence tensions to the unification of the country and the proclamation of Rome as the capital, also documenting the evolution of Lombard romantic painting from the 1840s to to the completion of the Unification of Italy, in an iconographically diversified ensemble.

Along the exhibition path of the Museum of the Risorgimento there are also numerous sculptures , mostly busts depicting historical personalities, writers and politicians.
