The new age of parco Archeologico di Ercolano started in 2016 together with the re-organization made by our Ministry. Since 1917 the Park intend its work as a mission which combine together research, conservation and communication in order to preserve for future people the cultural value of this ancient town. The absolute extraordinariness of this site is known worldwide and since 1997 UNESCO counted in its World Heritage List. Since its discovery Ercolano became worldwide known not only as a source for archaeology and history in Campania but also as a big laboratory to preserve the great quantities of organic remains, woods, agricultural products and the treasures of goldsmith crafts’ works.  Since 2001 the American philanthropic Packard Foundation, wanted by David Packard, finances important restoration and excavations field works and researches, and gives a huge help to the management of this wonderful heritage.
The itineraries tell the life and last hours of a small luxurious town under the Vesuvius mount, made eternal by the disaster of 79 A.D. Streets, buildings, houses, public places, baths, and crafts are only a few of the aspects that we clearly perceive while visiting it. The site peculiarity is to offer an intimate perception of the life of an ancient town.
