The Museo Diocesano della Cattedrale di Adria, inaugurated in March 2025, is the main center of sacred art of the Diocese of Adria-Rovigo and a new cultural reference point in the Polesine area. The museum preserves, enhances, and tells the historical and artistic testimonies of the Christian community in Polesine, promoting the knowledge of its spiritual and cultural roots.

Located in the complex of the Cathedral of Adria, the Diocesan Museum is situated in the spaces between the ancient Cathedral of San Giovanni and the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. The completely renovated and expanded exhibition welcomes works from numerous parishes in the area, consolidating the museum as a diocesan center dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the ecclesiastical heritage.

The exhibition path, articulated in eight sections over approximately 500 square meters, guides the visitor through two thousand years of history of faith in the Polesine area. The collection includes paintings, altarpieces, sculptures, liturgical silverware, and sacred vestments of great historical and artistic value. Among the masterpieces stand out the fifteenth-century fragments by Michele da Firenze, extraordinary examples of modeled, painted, and gilded terracotta.

The Diocesan Museum of Adria also integrates immersive audio-video technologies, offering an engaging and accessible experience. The path starts from the evocative apsidal shrine of the 9th century, the so-called "crypt," one of the most significant places from a historical, artistic, and religious point of view in Polesine and the entire Veneto region.
