Aldo Zanetti
Sea, 2001, acrylic on plywood, 25×21 cm
Born in 1943, in Casalnuovo, but adopted by Pozzuoli, he is the painter of the sea.
"The painter as a child - Maria Guarino recounted, president of the Il Corvo association of Pozzuoli (see the portrait by Maurizio Valenzi in Collecting signs ) - from Casalnuovo he moved to Via Napoli, the house is a building by the sea, the child cannot sleep attracted by the constant noise of the sea, at dawn he discovers it, it is the beginning of his long infatuation.".
Self-taught, he gradually, meticulously, refined his painting technique, studying the sea, listening to it, he learned to scrutinize all the nuances of color and tone. He is the poet painter of the sea, capable of narrating its thousand secrets and capturing all its echoes. Tied to a figurative tradition, but not realistic, his seascapes, storms, landscapes are images of memory, revisitation, Proustian research.
