Description

It is one of the symbols of the Academy; donated by Luisa Bartolozzi Tommasi in 1851, it underwent long vicissitudes, including judicial ones, before being definitively acquired by the Academy. It is an encaustic painting on a blackboard, made according to patterns drawn from the ancient tradition; it is dated during the sixteenth century, if not in the eighteenth century.
