The lower part brings together in a single scenographic environment, with a solemn central perspective, the Dance of Salome, the Beheading of the Baptist, which also occupies part of the back wall, and the Presentation of the head to Herodias. A simple marble step leads into the banquet hall, with a beautiful inlaid floor, on the sides of which, behind the set table, the diners watch the sinuous Dance of Salome. An imposing figure of the soldier separates the scene where the Beheading of the Baptist takes place. In the right part of the fresco, Salome hands the head of the Baptist to her mother Herodias. The story is read starting from the center, then moving to the left and ending on the right, with some of Filippo Lippi's most successful figures.
