Machiko Kodera 小寺真知子 (Hokkaido, 1950 - Rome, 2012) was a Japanese artist who developed her research between Japan and Italy. After an initial training in her home country, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome under the guidance of Venanzo Crocetti, graduating in 1985. Her career was marked by exhibitions and international awards, including the Grand Prize at the Yokohama Competition and the Rodin Prize at the Hakone Open Air Museum. Her artistic production explores the dialogue between Japanese tradition and European sensibility, blending technique and poetics in elegant and refined sculptures.
