Nicola Samorì is a contemporary artist born in Forlì. His works, paintings, sculptures, and engravings, have received awards such as the Morandi Prize (2002) and the Michetti Prize (2006), have been exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2011 and in 2015. Starting from copies of works, especially from the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries, where the clash between light and shadow dominates, Samorì transforms and reinterprets them, giving life to new works.
