Os Gemeos (Otavio Pandolfo; Gustavo Pandolfo)
Backstage Street Art
Efêmero is the first intervention of the "Outside the Cube" program, dedicated to Street Art and art forms linked to the urban and public context. On the occasion of the inaugural edition, OSGEMEOS, literally "the twins", pseudonym of the brothers Gustavo and Otávio Pandolfo (1974, San Paolo, Brazil), presented their first large mural in Italy. Taking inspiration from the history of the Pirelli HangarBicocca building, where train locomotives were manufactured in the last century, and from the proximity of the parallel railway line, Efêmero recreates on a monumental scale the silhouette of a metropolitan wagon that projects the local context on a journey fictional. With an education rooted in hip-hop culture and "wildstyle" graffiti, the duo has brought the culture of writing to the major international museums, developing a cultured and recognizable work since the 1980s. Characterized by the presence of dreamlike landscapes and poetic figures, OSGEMEOS 'work draws on a wide range of cultural, social and political references as well as the colors, nature and urban context of São Paulo.
