The Civic Museum of Asolo (TV) preserves a heritage that traces the history of the area, from Prehistory to the twentieth century, thanks to finds, documents and works of art displayed through technological and innovative solutions.
In the Archaeological Section, materials from Prehistory to the medieval-Renaissance era are preserved and the Art Gallery collects paintings and works created by artists such as Bernardo Bellotto, Luca Giordano, Bernardo Strozzi and Antonio Canova. On the top floor there are the Cathedral Treasury and the rooms dedicated to the three women whose lives were inextricably linked to the city of Asolo: Caterina Cornaro, Freya Stark and Eleonora Duse.
The section dedicated to the latter was rearranged on the occasion of the celebrations of the municipality of Asolo for the centenary of the actress's death, to make the visitor's experience interactive and engaging. Thanks to the technological component and his personal objects, "A House for Eleonora" tells the multifaceted figure of Duse, the relationship with the city of Asolo and some themes related to his professional and personal life.
The Asolo Civic Museum aims to enhance its heritage by involving the community and visitors with events, educational activities and numerous thematic guided tours.
