closed Biennial of Engraving "Giuseppe Maestri"

The show

The Biennial of Engraving "Giuseppe Maestri" is an event declined in two artistic prizes that intends to enhance and promote the language of graphic art.

The exhibition dedicated to the Prize for young engravers # 2022 aims to bring an understanding of the trends in engraving art among artists under 35, raising a reflection on the theme of the call "natura naturans / Futuristic scenarios: Nature as pulsating life, as an active power that changes over time ". Through the 64 works selected among the more than 200 received in response to the announcement, it will be possible to deepen the interpretations of young artists on the interactions between nature and a culture that is perpetually in motion.

With the “Giuseppe Maestri” # 2022 Engraving Award , by invitation, we want to bring to the attention of the public some of the most interesting and significant engravers working on the national scene. There are 27 participating artists, for a total of 54 unpublished works on display: a journey into the fascinating territory of graphic art, to discover technical virtuosity combined with iconography with a contemporary flavor. The engraving that will be selected for the Purchase Award will be printed in a limited edition to be donated to prestigious national and international institutes that deal with the conservation and enhancement of the engraving.

The Biennial of Engraving, now in its third edition, is an artistic event dedicated to the memory of the Ravenna engraver Giuseppe Maestri organized by the Municipality of Bagnacavallo in collaboration with the Municipality of Ravenna, and realized with the support of the Provincial CNA of Ravenna, A Minardi & Figli, BiART Gallery, Busato Art Stamperia, Paolo Ponzi Jewelery.
