The show

Inside the ancient rooms of the Ex Convent of San Francesco in Bagnacavallo , contemporary art returns to be the protagonist with the solo exhibition of ERON (Rimini, 1973), curated by Davide Caroli . The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Bagnacavallo and organized by the Civic Museum of the Capuchins on the occasion of the Feast of St. Michael , presents a selection of unpublished works created specifically for this occasion.

Having established himself as one of the most important street artists on the Italian scene for several years now, ERON also combines his " walls " with a prolific and recognizable production of works on canvas , obviously always created with the use of spray cans . In his works the theme of landscape has always been central, his Landscapes of the 2000s were then joined by Mindscapes, landscapes of the mind in which the boundaries between reality and dreams become increasingly undefined also thanks to his technical ability in using of color through which he is able to create scenes in which even time and space remain suspended and undefined. His work challenges our perception by playing and exploiting pareidolia , that is, the ability of our brain to trace spots and objects of casual forms, and in recent years this direction has led to the creation of works pervaded by great poetry. His parallel work on the street, which has never stopped, has evolved over time in a figurative sense, addressing social themes and making it easily recognisable. on the international scene as one of the most sensitive and current voices of denunciation.

As part of Bagnacavallo's cultural programming focused for 2023 on the theme of the urban landscape , it seemed more focused and appropriate to organize this initiative, bringing suggestions and images that are influenced by the inevitably also of the recent events linked to the calamitous events of the floods that affected Romagna.

The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog that includes images of the works on display and texts by Davide Caroli, director of the Civic Museum of the Capuchins of Bagnacavallo, and Pietro Rivasi, expert in contemporary urban art.

Eron (Rimini 1973), is an Italian artist considered among the most gifted and virtuous interpreters of figurative art and international contemporary painting (Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani) and is one of the best-known exponents of Italian graffiti and street art at the turn of the twentieth century. and 21st century. He trained at the Urbino art school and continued his journey through underground urban art. In 2018 he created what is considered one of the largest works of urban mural art in the world. The work, entitled WALL (Walls Are Love's Limits), was created in the City Life district of Milan. A 1000 square meter painting that transformed the large wall into a monumental wall against walls. In 2010 he created what is today considered the first and only work in the world painted by a street artist inside a place of worship, "frescoing" with spray paint the large ceiling of the Church of San Martino in Riparotta in Rimini. In 2016 he created a work dedicated to migrants for the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia Institute, painted on the side of a naval wreck entitled “Soul of the Sea” where he portrays some faces of women and children who seem to be painted by the rust of the wreck itself. Eron's works often touch on political and social themes through a pictorial research that combines power, delicacy, poetry and visual harmony. Eron's wall paintings are present in Italy, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Portugal, France.
