From October 25, 2025, to February 22, 2026, the Civic Museums of Bassano del Grappa are pleased to present to the public Giovanni Segantini, the major exhibition celebrating the life and work of one of the leading exponents of Italian Divisionism and one of the most sensitive observers of the natural world: Giovanni Segantini (1858-1899).

Promoted and organized by the Municipality and the Civic Museums of Bassano del Grappa, with the patronage of the Veneto Region, with the support of the Segantini Museum in St. Moritz and the Galleria Civica G. Segantini in Arco and in collaboration with Lombardy Region and Dario Cimorelli Editore, the exhibition will reconstruct the figure of Giovanni Segantini through a new interpretation of his work compared to contemporary art, to narrate a career that in just twenty years, from the "scapigliati" beginnings to the last symbolist impulses to capture Nature, has influenced the major artistic movements of his time. A high-profile scientific exhibition that, after over ten years since the last major Italian exhibition, will follow chronologically the fundamental stages of the arcense painter's career through exceptional national and international loans from some of the most important museums in Europe.

The exhibition is part of the official program of the Cultural Olympiad of Milan Cortina 2026, an initiative that accompanies the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games with a rich calendar of cultural events spread throughout the national territory. In this context, the exhibition dedicated to Giovanni Segantini represents a unique opportunity to enhance the Italian and European artistic heritage, offering the international public an in-depth look at the figure of an artist who has interpreted, with extraordinary sensitivity, the relationship between man and nature. Participation in the Cultural Olympiad underlines the central role of culture as a bridge between territories, generations, and languages, in line with the spirit of the Games.
