From May 31 to September 7, 2025, the Civic Museum of Bassano del Grappa is pleased to host, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth, the retrospective of one of the most important Venetian artists of the second half of the 20th century: Pompeo Pianezzola. 

The exhibition Pompeo Pianezzola (1925-2012) aims to reconstruct in an anthological key the life and career of this undisputed protagonist of the renewal of ceramic art, who was also a versatile artist, involved in the contexts of the neo-avant-gardes, a graphic designer with a broad spectrum. 

Promoted and organized by the Municipality and the Civic Museums of Bassano del Grappa, with the patronage of the Veneto Region, main sponsor ASA Studio Albanese, with the support of Costenaro Assicurazioni, the exhibition aims to reconstruct the entire creative path of the author, from his early paintings to his first ceramics, from the large and famous maiolica shields to the multiplied works, from artist's books to the moving tribute to Canova. 

A journey through eleven thematic sections and about 120 exhibited works, including ceramics, paintings, drawings, and engravings, documenting all the stages that led the young talent from Nove to engage with the major artists of his time - from Burri to Fontana, from Melotti to Valentini - and to interpret the aspirations and anxieties of Italian culture from the years of the economic miracle to the threshold of the new century, in constant tension with the most important artistic currents of his time.
