The show

Accademia Carrara, always sensitive to inclusiveness, dedicates the month of May to the theme of fragility and in particular to people with Parkinson's, thanks to a photographic exhibition by Giovanni Diffidenti told by the voices of Lella Costa and Claudio Bisio, created in collaboration with Parkinson Confederation Italy.
During the exhibition period: a conference on forms of accessibility and inclusion, in collaboration with the Italian Parkinsonian Association, and a new appointment with Dance Well, the artistic practice of free bodily expression curated by Orlando with the Carrara Academy and the Festival Danza Estate.

Don't call me disease. Stories of resistance to Parkinson's makes a stop in Bergamo: the traveling photographic exhibition by Giovanni Diffidenti told by the voices of Lella Costa and Claudio Bisio, arrives at the Carrara Academy after the exhibitions in Milan, Genoa and Trento. True stories of people with Parkinson's, who know how to make people reflect and have fun, move and think.
The exhibition, which has as its theme a disease as widespread as it is little and poorly known, is an opportunity to raise public awareness, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis, and to combat the stigma and social isolation that affects people with Parkinson's. : the images by Giovanni Diffidenti, together with the texts by Roberto Caselli interpreted by “Mr. or Mrs. Parkinson ”(Lella Costa and Claudio Bisio), respond to the need to show how well-being and a good quality of life are necessary and possible for people with Parkinson's. The two actors, with their unmistakable voices, to be listened to through a free APP, give life to a narrative in which the disease in the first person guides the visitor to discover the life of the protagonists, including the journalist Vincenzo Mollica and the popularizer. scientific Edoardo Boncinelli: from difficult moments to personal resilience strategies that each of them has been able to apply in their daily lives. The exhibition is curated by the architect Franco Achilli.
