From 9 October to 17 January 2021
The research on objects and materials with a cultural, social, historical or personal significance represents for Sonia Leimer the starting point of her work. The themes of architecture, work and globalization are at the center of his interest.
Through a large installation developed for the Museion space, the artist reflects the critical issues underlying our desires and fears, but also the contemporary threats to our living environments. Thus the series of Space Junk sculptures, which gives the exhibition its title, is made up of waste fallen to earth, coming from unused spaceships and satellites.
