Diocesan Museum of Brescia

A collection of paintings, icons, illuminated manuscripts, sculptures, goldsmithery, fabrics and much more, a stone's throw from Piazza Loggia, in the heart of the city.

The Diocesan Museum of Brescia houses masterpieces by great masters of painting such as Moretto, Romanino, Floriano Ferramola, Antonio Vivarini, Titian, Andrea Celesti and many others . The collection is located in the rooms around the main cloister of the ancient monastery complex of San Giuseppe. Inside the museum there is a strong naturalistic component - as well as a cultural one - as the same types of plants and aromatic herbs that were cultivated by the monks since the 16th century are still present. From this combination of history, art, nature, architecture and faith results a place of extraordinary beauty, promoter of the contemporaneity of the Sacred and aggregator of different voices, opinions and audiences.
