On Saturday, December 20th, the Reggia di Caserta will be open until late evening for the exhibition "Queens. Weaves of culture and diplomacy between Naples and Europe" and the Grand Court Ball show.

The international exhibition of over 200 works from all over Europe will welcome the public from 9:30 am to 11:00 pm to guide them in the discovery of the women who were key players in alliances and dynastic continuity. In the halls of the Grand Gallery, the thematic path of the exhibition will highlight the complexity of the role of Queens, emphasizing the delicate balance between public duties and private life: from Elisabetta Farnese to Maria Amalia of Saxony; from Maria Carolina of Habsburg-Lorraine, through the Napoleonic decade of Giulia Clary and Carolina Murat, to the Bourbon Restoration with Maria Isabella; from Maria Cristina of Savoy to Maria Theresa of Habsburg-Teschen, up to Maria Sophia of Bavaria and the Savoy sovereigns - Margherita, Helen of Montenegro, and Maria José of Belgium.

The exhibition "Queens: weaves of culture and diplomacy between Naples and Europe", from December 20th to April 20th, has the prestigious contribution, among others, of Château de Versailles (France), Palacio Real of Madrid (Spain), Galería de las Colecciones Reales (Spain), Schloss Schönbrunn (Austria), Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Germany), Royal Palace of Naples, State Archives of Naples, State Archives of Caserta, Capodimonte Museum, Reggia di Venaria, Royal Museums of Turin and private lenders. The project is funded by the Campania Region through the Cohesion Agreement. The event sponsor is La Reggia Designer Outlet, with the support of Consorzio UnicoCampania. On December 20th, the last entry to the exhibition, with access from the Palatine Chapel, will be at 10:15 pm.

The evening of Saturday, December 20th will also be animated by the notes of classical music and the Grand Court Ball show. At 8:00 pm with a repeat at 9:00 pm, in the Upper Vestibule, dancers in period costumes from the Cultural Association APS Società di Danza Napoli and Caserta directed by Maestro Lucio Martino, will bring back to life the tradition of nineteenth-century celebrations. Knights and ladies will make their entrance with Mendelssohn's Athalia march. Following, among others, the waltz by Edward Strauss, the Spanish waltz, Beethoven's Cinderella contradance, and Georges Bizet's Carmen quadrille. In the Christmas spirit, the Flower Waltz from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker cannot be missed. To conclude, the Galop from William Tell.
