The show

The Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art presents the work of Renato Leotta (Turin, 1982) Sole, 2019 . The exhibition, curated by Marianna Vecellio , is the first solo exhibition of the Turin artist of Sicilian origin in a public museum and will be inaugurated on 24 February 2020.

Set up on the first floor of the Museum, Sole is an environmental installation that explores the link between the historical industrial tradition of Piedmont, its social fabric and the artistic language of the Baroque. The work consists in illuminating , not without a form of subtle humor, all that is Piedmontese in the building - from its historical, material and artistic details. It is made up of car headlights scattered throughout the space to constitute an alternative lighting system for the Museum and its exhibitions, thus reflecting on a metaphorical level the social change that took place in the area that from a center linked to industry until the end of the nineties of the century. last, he shifted his attention towards the production of “contemporary entertainment culture”, as the artist says.
