On the next January 12, 2025 (at 5.30 pm), at the La Verde La Malfa Foundation - Parco dell’Arte in San Giovanni La Punta (CT), Sculpting the Elements will close, a solo exhibition by Lorenzo Reina. Curated by art historian Daniela Fileccia and conceived by Alfredo La Malfa and Dario Cunsolo, the exhibition has allowed visitors to admire eight sculptures by the artist born in Santo Stefano Quisquina (AG) and a series of large-format photographs taken by his son Christian Reina, which capture all the charm of the Andromeda Theater, an open-air artwork built stone by stone over about thirty years in the heart of Sicily. This will be the last opportunity to closely observe the exhibited sculptures. The event will be attended by the renowned "archi-sculptor," the art critic Giorgio Agnisola, who has already authored one of the critical essays included in the exhibition catalog and will offer his final considerations on "Sculpting the Elements" and talk about his new book, "Journey into the Art of the Stars. From the Lascaux Caves to Space Art" (Donzelli Editore). Also present will be Daniela Fileccia, who will guide us in discovering Agnisola's work during the evening of January 12. The choice to present the book during the finissage of "Sculpting the Elements" is not random, as the essay by the Campanian scholar dedicates ample space to Lorenzo Reina's work and represents, as recalled by Giorgio Agnisola himself, "a journey through art and time, following the dialogue between man and the sky, from prehistory to our days. A journey of the gaze and the soul, between image and poetry, in search of the meaning of life. On a night of stars." "The presentation of a book like 'Journey into the Art of the Stars' is a joyful event for Lorenzo's exhibition finissage. An evening dedicated to art and writing devoted to the search for the infinite," emphasized Daniela Fileccia.
