Cenacle of All Saints

The Cenacolo di Ognissanti is located in the historic center of Florence .

The refectory of the Convent of Ognissanti is famous for the large fresco painted in 1488 by Domenico Ghirlandaio . The environment, a typical classroom refectory, preserves, in addition to the Last Supper and its sinopia, the ancient washbasins and the portal, dated 1488 and an Annunciation from the early fifteenth century.

In the church adjacent to the Cenacle of Ognissanti , two other works by Domenico Ghirlandaio can be admired: a San Girolamo from 1480 and a youthful Madonna della Misericordia with the Deposition of Christ , commissioned by the Vespucci family. The refectory is accessed through the cloister, frescoed with Stories from the Life of San Francesco , starting from 1600, by Florentine painters including Jacopo Ligozzi and Giovanni da San Giovanni.

Other works can be found in the portal of the room and the two original pietra serena washbasins from 1480. The niches contain two seventeenth-century frescoes by Giuseppe Romei with depictions of " Sara at Jacob's well and Moses making water gush out of the rock".
