The show

The exhibition project , with the curatorial coordination of Alessandro Pinto, includes about twenty works by Oren Fischer, Hadar Mitz, Margherita Moscardini, Edith Oellers, Klaus Richter, Francesco Simeti, which investigate the political, economic and geographical diversity of migration, a question of scope historical, generated by precarious living conditions, situations of violence, wars, and the growing gap between poor and rich countries.

The Mayor of Castelbuono, Mario Cicero argues that "cultural institutions today must be at the forefront of reaffirming the values of hospitality, solidarity, ideals of humanity at the basis of the democracies of the 21st century, also through artistic projects capable of speaking with intellectual honesty to the community ".

Thus declared Monsignor Domenico Mogavero Fina, Bishop of Mazara del Vallo: It is urgent to free the issue of migration from psychological fears and pressures, from populist propaganda, from the shallows of political immobility. We give back to the phenomenon its anthropological and humanitarian value and above all we privilege the cultural and educational aspects, for which the sensitivity of the younger generations is particularly attentive. The coexistence between different people in compulsory school, in fact, facilitates the welcome and acceptance of the other perceived to be equal to oneself, even if different. Also for this area, as for the environment, we give the floor to children and adolescents because they have new messages to propose ".
