Building built on the perimeter walls of a 1200 church dedicated to San Francesco, inside it preserves the original columns of the church with variously decorated capitals that support the cross vaults of the aisles.

Of particular interest are the frescoes from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. came to light during the restoration works of the years 2010-2011.

The hall on the ground floor annually hosts thematic exhibitions of art and photography.

The recently reopened museum houses the naturalistic, archaeological, art and history collections of the city of Domodossola on floors I and II.
