Villa Romana, based in Florence,è a production center d’ contemporary art and international exchange.Since 1905, I have lived and worked the winners of the annual Villa Romana. During their stay, the award-winning artists come in contact with all international and the regional and Italian art scene.È così ;, which, over the decades, Villa Romanaè sets as a’ only interface, dynamic, active in contemporary production and committed to carry forward the debate and artistic exchange between Germany, Italy and the Mediterranean basin. Unique among cultural institutes located all’ abroad, Villa Romana collaborates with Italian and international partners, and by his Florentine headquarters, pursues a transcontinental dialogue between Europe and Africa. The collaboration with realityà local (museums, academies d’ art, universitiesà ;, archives, musicians, artisans…), comes a valuable exchange of expertise, cultural differences and personal biographies. Villa Romanaè a hospitable home, a place open to the disciplines and dialogue, visited each year by numerous artists, curators, critics and visitors. well it founded 115 years ago by a group of artists and patrons - with the’ aim of creating an independent place of exchange and artistic production -è tutt’ now run by a’ German association nonprofit, andè in turn actively supported by numerous artists.
