The show

The Coppola Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of its exhibition venue at the Torrione di Vicenza, with the exhibition "La Torre", curated by Davide Ferri: the first solo show in Italy of the artists Neo Rauch (Leipzig, 1960) and Rosa Loy (Zwickau, 1958).
The project was born by the will of the patron and entrepreneur Antonio Coppola, who bought and donated the medieval tower to the Municipality of Vicenza in exchange for a thirty-year usufruct, subjected it to a meticulous restoration work by the UP3 Architetti studio. Associates, under the careful supervision of the Superintendency, returning to the city a public good that has now become a pole for contemporary art.

The first exhibition, which will present a series of unpublished works, including paintings and drawings, by Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy, specially designed for the spaces of the Torrione, represents the opportunity to approach the work of two key figures of the international painting scene of the last decades. Their experience is strongly linked to the city of Leipzig, where, from the beginning of the twentieth century to the 2000s, a figurative language was formulated that formed an important school of painting (the Leipzig school, in fact) that involved several generations of German artists.
