Fondazione Coppola was founded in 2018 as an exhibition venue for contemporary art, inside the Torrione di Porta Castello, a historic building from the 12th century, which has always been one of the symbols of the city. With its 60 meters of height, the Torrione is one of the tallest historical buildings of the Vicenza city center.
The tower itself spans on eight different levels: from a reception open to the public on the ground level, to a beautiful space on the top, from which visitors can take advantage of an exceptional view of the entire historical center, Monte Berico and its surrounding hill and mountain landscape.
The visitor experience is enhanced by the sophisticated manner that architects Paolo De Biasi and Francesco Durante designed the exhibition area through the imposing architectural structure. Every floor is equipped with a series of panels. The areas are lit by an innovative adjustable lighting system. The panels and the lighting system have a minimal visual impact and highlight the different volumes and spaces of the tower, granting at the same time great flexibility to the space.
The mission of Fondazione Coppola is to promote the languages of contemporary art, investing both in the already acclaimed figures but also in emerging artists.
