The show

40 years of Ikona Gallery in Venice

An exhibition that the Levi Foundation dedicates to the forty years of activity of the prestigious Venetian gallery founded by Živa Kraus in 1979.
With over forty years of activity behind it, Ikona Photo Gallery was founded in 1979 in Venice, at the San Moisè bridge, by the artist and gallery owner Živa Kraus, who still directs it today. Since 1989 Ikona Venezia is also the International School of Photography. He has carried out projects in various other locations in the city, always prestigious, up to the current one, in 2003, in the Campo del Ghetto Nuovo.

In its rooms it has seen, over time, the greatest representatives of world photography, from Berenice Abbott, to Gabriele Basilico, Antonio and Felice Beato, John Batho, Bruce Davidson, Adolphe de Meyer, Robert Doisneau, Giorgia Fiorio, Franco Fontana, Martine Franck, Chuck Freedman, Gisèle Freund, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Mario Giacomelli, Erich Hartmann, William Klein, Helen Levitt, Lisette Model, Paolo Monti, Barbara Morgan, Carlo Naya, Helmut Newton, Ferdinando Scianna, Rosalind Solomon.
