The beautiful season has arrived, and with it, the usual appointment with SUMMER AT HIC MA*GA MAJNO returns to Gallarate (VA), a diverse program of events that for 2025 ranges from music to cinema, from art exhibitions to creative workshops and much more, capable of offering the audience, moments of great entertainment.
SUMMER AT HIC MA*GA MAJNO follows the program of the music festival promoted by the call for proposals from Regione Lombardia Giovani SMART 2.0, the fourth edition of ARCHIVIFUTURI, and the film event Cinema under the stars.
Much awaited will be the musical evenings, organized by the Municipality of Gallarate - Department of Educational Activities, which will take place on the stage of the outdoor arena of HIC MA*GA MAJNO. The program is part of the activities promoted by the project CULTURA IMMATERIALE. Paths of discovery through art, music, and dance, included in the call for proposals from Regione Lombardia "Giovani SMART 2.0 (SportMusicaARTe)", developed, as the lead partner, by Museo MA*GA in partnership with the Municipality of Gallarate, the Municipality of Gemonio with the Museo Civico Floriano Bodini and MILANoLTRE.
On Sunday, June 8, starting at 8:30 pm, the Norma Papparotto Pozzi Memorial Concert will be held, an evening dedicated to the great soundtracks of cinema with music by Morricone, Zimmer, Horner, Vangelis, and others. Free entry without reservation.
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am, the project Beehive @ Museo MA*GA, promoted by Beehive, with the support of Autotorino BeBeep, Wall Street English, Farmacia Olmina, and WePadel, will transform the outdoor arena into an immersive space, with artistic installations and areas dedicated to socializing and relaxation, where important groups and musicians will alternate, such as Dirty Channels, Skia, Deiv. On Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 9:00 pm, at Note di Luce, the sounds of the harp by Michela La Fauci will blend with the deep and versatile voice of the saxophone by Stefano Guazzo, in a musical journey where pop standards are reinvented. Free entry without reservation.
The Arazzi Ottavio Missoni Hall will host, on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 9:00 pm, The virtuosos of Lemene. The quartet, composed of Walter Zampiron, flute, Glauco Bertagnin, violin, David Briatore, viola, Carlo Teodoro, cello, will offer a musical journey with pieces for strings and flute, from the Baroque to the 20th century, from Vivaldi to Mozart, from Schubert to Paganini, to the famous melodies of tango and cinema composed by Carlos Gardel, Astor Piazzolla, and Ennio Morricone. ARCHIVIFUTURI
From June 13 to July 13, 2025, ARCHIVIFUTURI. Festival of Contemporary Archives aims to discover the cultural heritage of the 20th and 21st centuries, developed in a wide geographical area including the province of Varese, the Lakes, the Alto Milanese, and Piedmont, chosen by important contemporary artists as a privileged place for research, artistic production, and characterized by the presence of museums, foundations, house museums, and archives dedicated to them.
The Festival, promoted by the Archivi del Contemporaneo network formed by museums, foundations, associations, house museums, and archives, offers a rich calendar of exhibitions, workshops, and activities for children and families, visits to artists' studios, theatrical performances, and concerts involving important institutions in the area such as the Museo MA*GA (Gallarate) - lead partner - Museo Civico Floriano Bodini (Gemonio), Il Borgo di Lucio Fontana (Comabbio), Museo MIDeC (Cerro di Laveno Mombello), Fondazione Sangregorio (Sesto Calende), Casa Testori (Novate Milanese), Atelier Vittore Frattini (Varese), Archivio Missoni (Sumirago), Fondazione Marcello Morandini (Varese), Museo Pagani (Castellanza), Fondazione Angelo Bozzola (Galliate), Casa-Studio Enrico Baj (Vergiate), Civico Museo Parisi Valle (Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca), [MAP] Museo Arte Plastica (Castiglione Olona), Museo Butti (Viggiù), Studio Mario da Corgeno (Corgeno di Vergiate), Borgo di Arcumeggia, Collezione Marcolino Gandini (Cassano Magnago), Archivio Luciano e Maud Giaccari (Varese), Casa-Studio Pietro Pirelli (Varese), Fondazione Enrica Borghi (Orta San Giulio).
ARCHIVIFUTURI 2025 will revolve around the celebration of some anniversaries, such as the centenary of the birth of Giancarlo Sangregorio (1925-2013) and Marinella Pirelli (1925-2009), the 80 years of Mario Da Corgeno (1945), the 75 years since the first edition of the National Visual Arts Prize City of Gallarate (1950-2025), the 60 years of the Via Crucis of Arcumeggia (1965-2025), the 20 years since the death of Floriano Bodini (1933-2005), the 10 years of the Arazzi Ottavio Missoni Hall (2015-2025).
Among the most anticipated events, Friday, June 13, at 6:30 pm, at MA*GA in Gallarate, the festival will open with the inauguration of the exhibitions Sangregorio and the light, which delves into the concept of light in the works of Milanese sculptor Giancarlo Sangregorio, and Missoni and the Mago machine, 1975-2025, which presents the restaging of Ottavio Missoni's first solo exhibition at the Galleria Naviglio in Venice in 1975.
Particularly interesting will be the guided tour of the Parco dei Quattro Punti Cardinali, in Taino (VA) - Saturday, June 21, at 11:00 am -, designed by Giò Pomodoro, and which, since 2022, houses the work Ruota di Mola by Giancarlo Sangregorio, or the extraordinary opening - Tuesday, June 24, from 5:30 pm
