From 25 January to 1 September 2024, the Ottavio Missoni Tapestry Room of the MA*GA Museum in Gallarate (VA) hosts the exhibition, curated by the Missoni Archive, Fashion Illustration. Missoni Fashion interpreted by Gladys Perint Palmer.

Illustration has always been a strong and fascinating communication tool. The fashion designs by Gladys Perint Palmer for Missoni are an extraordinary example of how art can elevate and communicate the aesthetics of a brand.

Rosita Missoni grew up playing at cutting out sketches from the fashion magazines she found in the family company's atelier and since then she has always been fascinated by the ability of fashion illustrations to project her towards fantastic worlds. Thus, even when the Missonis began to commission their advertising campaigns to fashion photographers in the 1960s, Rosita always remained fascinated by the expressive potential of illustration, entrusting their creations to Brunetta until the 1970s, followed by Antonio Lopez in the 1970s. Eighties and to Gladys Perint Palmer since the Nineties.

Rosita and Gladys met through the fashion journalist Anna Piaggi who in 1989, during the period of the Milanese fashion shows, together with Luca Stoppini had curated the Gladys Perint Palmer Exhibition. Characters. Rosita was enthusiastic and proposed that Gladys illustrate the garments of her collections, to communicate the cheerful and ironic side of Missoni fashion. A collaboration that went on for ten years and a friendship that still lasts.
