BUILDING and MA * GA present "Giovanni Campus. Time in process. Relations, measurements, connections", an exhibition project in two chapters dedicated to experimentation by Giovanni Campus, curated by Francesco Tedeschi: two complementary exhibitions that will open respectively on 12 September by BUILDING in Milan and on 21 September at the MA * GA in Gallarate.
"Giovanni Campus. Time in process. Relations, measurements, connections" is made up of different moments, marked by the four floors of the Milanese gallery and in the open space environment of the Gallarate museum. At the center of each of them is the principle that has guided the artist's work for some time and is defined as “Time in process”. In fact, since the seventies, Campus has been working on the unity of installations in which the individual elements are connected to each other, in a continuity to be understood in a temporal rather than a spatial sense. "Time" is at the center of his attention, as part of a dialectical process in which shapes, geometries, the relationships between matter and color respond to a logic based on the value of the structural complex.
The figural representation (the installation - the environment) on the operational level takes place in reciprocal reference, in an aggregative dynamic of progressive fine-tuning, between tools and categories, between plastic expressive signs and symbolic references (wooden planks, structures Euclidean, internal and external spaces, moments and temporal phases). This representation, in its sensible-intelligible reading, absorbs differences, neither occupies nor intervenes on the space as an open place, but involves and incorporates it ”.
