On the occasion of the Mazzinian Days 2022 , the Museum of the Risorgimento unveils the correspondence of Giuseppe Mazzini to the public. The exhibition, entitled " Mazzini's letters ", transports the visitor on a real journey through time and projects him into the historical period of great ferment that led to the unification of Italy. He does so through the intense correspondence conversations that the Italian patriot, with his minute handwriting, entertained with other great characters, protagonists of the Risorgimento period in Italy and Genoa : above all, Giuseppe Garibaldi and Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour. To offer an even more exhaustive cross-section of Mazzini's thought and action, there is an exchange of letters with the main exponents of the economic and social life of the Superba, such as the Societies and Confederations of workers.

Almost all the letters are written on tissue paper: a peculiarity that makes them precious evidence of the historical period of reference. The tissue paper, in fact, due to its extremely thin consistency, was the ideal support for the exchange of conspiracy correspondences between the revolutionaries of the Risorgimento. Mazzini the patriot, however, is flanked by the man Mazzini, with a complexity of character distinguished by the great humanity that transpires from the beautiful letters sent to his mother Maria Drago, a figure who guided him spiritually for most of his life, and to Adele Zoagli Mameli, mother of Goffredo Mameli.

In addition to the letters by Giuseppe Mazzini, a series of paintings and memorabilia will also be exhibited, all preserved in the Museum of the Risorgimento.
