Produced and organized by ViDi, in collaboration with Palazzo Ducale Foundation for Culture and the Giorgio e Isa de Chirico Foundation, the exhibition Giorgio de Chirico. The face of Metaphysics, presents about 100 works created by Pictor Optimus throughout his entire career and coming from prestigious museums such as the Giorgio and Isa de Chirico Foundation in Rome, the National Gallery of Modern Art of Rome, the MART of Rovereto, the Galleria d'Arte Moderna of Palazzo Pitti - Florence, the Museo Museo Alberto Sordi, the Bilotti Museum, the Boschi Di Stefano Museum-House in Milan, the Luigi Bellini Museum in Florence, the Museo d 'Modern Art Mario Rimoldi Belluno, as well as prestigious private collections.
The exhibition offers a critical review of the complex activity of the artist, exactly one hundred years after the decision of the Master of 1919 to take a different direction from the Pittura Metafisica (1910-1918), in favor of styles and techniques inspired by Classicism and the great masters of the past. In line with the position that de Chirico has always maintained, the exhibition highlights not a detachment, but an increasingly sophisticated evolution.
