From 28 March to 5 July 2026
From March 28 to July 5, the San Domenico Museum in Imola hosts the exhibition "Vera da pozzo", a monographic exhibition dedicated to the Milanese artist Giovanni Frangi, curated by
Diego Galizzi, director of Imola Museums, and Marta Cereda, independent curator. Set up in the
interior spaces, in the quadriportico, and in the cloister of the former Dominican convent, the exhibition is
conceived in close relation to the historical architecture of the complex and is configured as a
broad and conscious examination of the artist's most recent experiences.
Over 40 works are on display, including large paintings, sculptures, and drawings, organized into
four autonomous yet interconnected cycles. The result is a seamless
journey, a kind of visual self-analysis that monitors the artist's current research, linking nature, sky, movement, and memory.
The title of the exhibition is visually represented by the artist's unique intervention
on the well in the center of the cloister. Vera da pozzo – the protective balustrade
surrounding the well's hole – becomes an evocative image and at the same time a symbolic device:
the well as a place of depth, reflection, and emergence, where architectural space
and pictorial research come together.
