The MIDeC - International Ceramic Design Museum is located in Laveno Mobello on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The Museum has been housed since 1971 in the sixteenth-century Perabò Palace. Its opening was possible thanks to the endowment of ceramic works from the Richard Ginori Society. To this initial deposit were added other ceramic objects belonging to private collections. In recent years, further works have been added to the collection, thanks to numerous donations. The Museum now boasts a rich collection of 19th and 20th century Lombard ceramics, in particular we remember Guido Andlovitz, one of the architects of Italian ceramics, and Antonia Campi, one of the most original and modern designers and ceramists. In the last decades the MIDeC has increased the collection which has been enriched with new and original works by contemporary artists. Today the museum also hosts cultural events and temporary exhibitions that allow a constant dialogue with the collection.
