Tate Britain is a British museum that is part of the larger Tate museum complex.
Tate Britain, in the heart of London's historic center - Millbank to be exact -, was first opened in 1897 as the National Gallery of British Art.
It was only in 2000, after the reopening, that it was given its current name.
The Tate Britain collection is a celebration of British art through the ages.
Famous, inside the museum, is the Clore Gallery: a wing that houses the masterpieces of the English master William Turner and which was designed and built by the architect James Stirling in 1986.
In addition to William Turner, inside the museum, there are masterpieces by William Blake, John Constable, Thomas Gainsborough, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Francis Bacon, David Bomberg, Henry Moore.
