An exhibition and two artists face to face in a game of joints and references made up of iconographic coincidences and conceptual strategies. The researches of Riccardo Dalisi (Potenza, 1931 - Naples, 2022) and Salvatore Sebaste (Novoli di Lecce - 1939, lives and works in Bernalda - MT), meet at the SoutHeritage Foundation in a dialogue within an exhibition project in starting from 24 June and until 12 August 2023.

With this exhibition project, the SoutHeritage Foundation reaffirms an aspect of its cultural work based on the care of the relationship with the heritage of the territory as an act of contemporary culture. As part of the program called GENIUS LOCI - aimed at rediscovering some of the most innovative cultural episodes originating in the region and/or at bringing to the attention of sector operators and the public historical artists active in Basilicata, whose work is still significant for a certain affinity with the most contemporary artistic practices - the foundation presents an exhibition project that opens the eye to the creative universes of two artists who, thanks to the peculiarity of their styles and their research, have gained the attention of the public and critics of the national and international art scene.

In the frame of the current headquarters of the foundation, located in a container of high artistic and architectural value in the heart of the Rioni Sassi of Matera (Palazzo Viceconte – formerly Venusio), the exhibition, conceived as a dialogue that challenges the traditional distinction between personal and collective, brings together in the spaces of the SoutHeritage pavilion different but openly communicating works, comparing two extremely different aesthetic researches: that of the eclectic artist *Salvatore Sebaste and that of the designer-architect *Riccardo Dalisi, one of the great protagonists of Italian and international architecture from the 1960s to today.

In the exhibition, which pays homage to these two extraordinary protagonists with renewed attention, the former punctuates his universe with some sculptures that synergistically combine the objectivity of materials with the expressive plasticity of multi-material sculpture, in which color mixes with matter to amplify the expressive possibilities; the second, on the other hand, opens our gaze to a series of sculpture-objects whose subject is the reinterpretation of some artefacts of great symbolic intensity whose body becomes a support and tool for plastic reinvention.
