The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, in collaboration with the Mart – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, presents the exhibition Depero Space to Space. The creation of memory, from February 13 to August 2, 2026, curated by Nicoletta Boschiero and Antonio D’Amico. The exhibition, part of the Cultural Olympiad of Milan Cortina 2026, is sponsored by Enit, Regione Lombardia, the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Municipality of Milan, and the Municipality of Rovereto.

The aim of the exhibition project is to highlight a surprising parallelism that links, albeit in different times, the barons Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi to Fortunato Depero, united by the same dream of living in spaces suspended between ancient and contemporary.

The exhibition marks the return to Milan of Fortunato Depero after 35 years since the last retrospective that saw him as the protagonist and proposes a new path, interacting the permanent collection of the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum with Depero's creations. These become guests in a unique setting specially designed by the architecture studio A-Fact of Milan to enhance the spatio-temporal placement of artworks in a living context with a well-defined identity.

Hosting over forty works ranging from the Thirties to the Fifties, coming from the Casa D’Arte Futurista Depero and the Mart – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum aims to further strengthen its role as the 'House of Collections'. A museum house created towards the end of the nineteenth century by two brothers who set up their residence in late Renaissance style, with paintings and applied art artifacts, living in it until 1974, interacts with a futurist art house, dedicated to Fortunato Depero in the Fifties of the last century, with the same impulse to find the same identity between place and artwork.
