The Cultural Center of Milan was born in 1981. Some students and young professors of the University of Milan created a free and meeting place. Initially the Center was called "Centro Culturale San Carlo", taking its name from the Basilica of San Carlo al Corso as well as its first seat. Over the years there were several important personalities from the art world who passed through the Center: Giovanni Testori, Augusto Del Noce, Luigi Giussani etc. The Center assumed a central role in the cultural policy of the city. The transfer to Via Zebedia 2, in a historic building, where the intellectual circles of the late eighteenth century met. Today the Center hosts not only cultural events, temporary exhibitions, but also conferences and seminars related to poetry.
